Cieniu “Astrofunk 3000”: a debut vinyl record that combines funk, blues, and hip-hop

Who is Cieniu?

Cieniu is a very promising figure on the Polish music scene, who in a short time has managed to attract the attention of both listeners and industry experts. He became known to a wider audience during the 11th edition of The Voice of Poland, and since 2023 he has been a member of the band Jamal, with whom he has performed at the biggest Polish festivals, including the iconic Męskie Granie.

His appearance in this year's final of the Debiuty competition at the KFPP in Opole and the recognition of his single “Ona” by the Must Be The Music jury confirm that Cień is an artist with a distinct artistic identity and the potential for a long career.

Astrofunk 3000 – with emotions on his face

Astrofunk 3000 is Cień's debut LP, a project that took two years to complete in close collaboration with renowned producer Hubert Radoszko. The album contains 10 dynamic compositions in which funk pulsations intertwine with blues vibes and hip-hop narration, creating a mesmerizing, multidimensional whole.

Astrofunk 3000 is an album conscious of its sound, created for the most demanding listeners who are looking for something more than just background music for scrolling. Marcin Szwajcer and Marcin Bors (Fonoplastykon) are responsible for mixing and mastering, and their names guarantee the highest level of production.

Special guests and the most important singles

The album features a number of unique collaborations. Jamal appears on the track “Prawie Nic” (Almost Nothing), created in a manner reminiscent of The Beatles' sessions: a meeting in one room, brainstorming, and a finished product in one take. BRK, a producer known for his work on projects by Vito Bambino, Grubson, and Igo, joins Cień on the single “Nie Mają Na Mnie Nic,” combining blues roots with a hip-hop beat.

The single “Ona” won the recognition of the Must Be The Music jury and the finalists of KFPP in Opole. “Gwiazdozbiory” is a cosmic tale of love at first sight. Each of the singles is a separate chapter of the same coherent story.
