Jazz improvisation spoken in the language of electronics. "Jazztronika" is the debut album by j.tronix — one of the most compelling voices in contemporary Polish jazz. Klaudia Wachtarczyk (bass, synth bass), Aleksander Gonsior (drums, SPDSx), and Szymon Szczot (piano, keys, production) met at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and forged a sound that defies easy categorisation: the spontaneity of jazz improvisation fused with modern electronics and a driving, contemporary groove.
Seven original compositions - including "In a Nervous Mood" featuring guest saxophonist Robert Wypasek (tenor sax) — document the band's journey from academic jam sessions to a fully formed artistic identity. j.tronix are winners of the Grand Prix at Poznań Blue Note Competition 2024 and finalists of Jazz nad Odrą 2023.
This vinyl edition is a limited pressing on violet transparent wax, 148g.
