dead star talk is a bit of an enigma. they say they "have no roots," and they might be right. based in hamburg and copenhagen, one vocalist raised in brussels, the other with deep ties to turkey. you can hear this multicultural mix in every note. their sound is massive, melodic, and totally guitar-driven.

but let's cut to the chase – "solid state chemicals" was produced by none other than flemming rasmussen. yes, that flemming rasmussen, the guy behind metallica and their grammy. recorded at the legendary sweet silence studios in copenhagen, the result is stunning. but don't expect simple rock nostalgia. rasmussen pulled something deeper out of them – layers, details, and psychedelic touches, like the sound of the turkish saz, which adds a unique flavor to the mix.

musically? get ready for a trip. from a massive wall of sound and shoegaze anthems to delicate, reflective ballads. lyrically, the guys play with the concept of pop-art – on the surface, simple, catchy melodies, but underneath lies irony and hidden meaning.

this is their best work yet. melancholic, dreamy, but with melodies that will stick in your head long after the needle returns to its rest.
